Mina (The Tent City)
Mina
is only for Hajj but Umrah pilgrims can also see its beauty from outside. Mina
is a region three miles east of Makkah that houses over 100,000 air-conditioned
tents. It is for pilgrims during the yearly Hajj pilgrimage. The Jamarat Site is positioned in the Mina Valley,
wherein pilgrims undertake another hajj rite known as 'Stoning the Devil.'
Muzdalifah
Another
important site in Makkah, Muzdalifah is located inside the Makkah region. It is
a broad, plain area connecting Mina and Arafat. Having to spend the full day in
Muzdalifah is an important hajj rite. Pilgrims in Muzdalifah rest beneath the
blue skies and rise earlier than usual for prayers. A holy mosque is also
present at the summit of a hill near Muzdalifah. Umrah pilgrims can visit it
but it’s mainly for Hajj pilgrims.
Cave Hira
It
is also commonly known as Mount Al Noor. It is the cave where the Prophet (P.B.U.H)
received the first revelations of the Quran in 610 BC. It is also recognized as Jabal Al Noor due to the
enigmatic light that shines on the peak at night. Prophet (P.B.U.H) required a
peaceful area to get insights from Angel Jibraeel. Cave Hira is a place where
the Prophet (S.A.W) devotes most of His time and prays day and night, with
provisions for Himself.
Kiswah Factory in Umm Al-Jud
This
is a well-known factory that produces Kiswah, a fabric that fully covers the
Holy Kaaba. Kiswah is by far the most
loved and respected covering of Kaaba. It is a highly regarded textile in the
Holy Mosque that you should discover during your visit. There
were a lot of changes in Kiswah over its history as a result of socioeconomic
factors.
Tuwa
Well
It is also referred to as
Bir Tuwa, it is nestled in one of Makkah's valleys. It was previously secluded
and rocky but is now densely populated with dwellings. Bir
Tuwa is now limited to a well in Jarwal or Tuwa. The Prophet (S.A.W)
stayed the evening here. Then, in the morning he washed himself with the water
from this well before entering Makkah. The well is located near
the northern end of Makkah.

Al
Wahba Crater
It is a beautiful spot in
Makkah, situated towards the northeast of the city. A
one-mile-long crater is encircled by 900-foot-high rocks. It
was originally a volcanic activity site. But it has since been transformed into
a hiking area with plenty of palm plants all along hills. During
the rainy season, the cliff's base fills with rainwater and transforms into a
salt-pan in the summertime.
